Mahamaya water system venture (Bengali: মহামায়া সেচ প্রকল্প) is a water system venture in Bangladesh arranged at Durgapur Union, Mirsharai Upazila, Chittagong. Started in the 2007-2008 budgetary year, the venture gives water system water to a 3360 hectare territory. It cost around 230 million taka and development was finished in 2009. This task was initiated by Prime Minister Sheik Hasina on 29 December 2010.[1] It is the second biggest man made lake in Bangladesh after Kaptai Lake.[2]
The undertaking likewise gave recreational areas.[3][4]
Government is additionally intending to introduce a 50 kW smaller than normal hydro electric powerplant here.[5]
